As part of the renovation of one of the oldest cities in Russia - Toropets - landscape lighting was implemented for the walking area from Sovetskaya Street to Bazarnaya Square. The project, developed by the architectural bureau VERSTA on the initiative of the Center for Economic Development of Small Towns and Historical Settlements, became the winner of the IV All-Russian competition for the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment in small towns and historical settlements.
Toropets is included in the list of 30 oldest ancient Russian cities. The first mention of it in chronicles dates back to 1074. It was the capital of its own principality, then a rich merchant city. The city became famous due to local craftswomen who made kokoshnik-shishaks from local river pearls. Now it is a small, distinctive town among lakes and deep forests.
The concept for the reconstruction of urban spaces was developed jointly with city residents who actively participated in the discussion. The main idea of the project is to revive and preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the most ancient city in the Tver region, to make it more comfortable and attractive for tourists and citizens.
The lighting of the main pedestrian route uses a combination of general and decorative light, emphasizing the unique appearance of the city, providing coziness, comfort and safety. Landscape LED luminaires RADUGA TM BOLLARD create local and contour lighting. Warm light of 2700 K has a calming effect and is conducive to leisurely walks and informal communication.
